By placing youth at the center and equipping them with the tools they need, Brown Issues is transforming lives and shaping the success of a multiracial democracy.

We help young people graduate, embrace a college-going culture, activate their civic power, and chase their dreams—all while inspiring them to give back to their communities. Through grassroots activism, policy advocacy, and a powerful narrative change framework– we shatter harmful stereotypes and inspire our youth to raise their voices and take meaningful action.
ROOTS
Our organization took root in South Sacramento, an area plagued by violence, where a group of Latino students turned their frustrations into a movement rooted in love and justice. Today, Brown Issues operates at the intersection of education, narrative change, and civic leadership, ensuring that Latino youth are seen, heard, and valued in schools, communities, and in leadership positions. With over 20 Brown Issues Chapters across California, we create safe, culturally grounded spaces where youth can connect, grow, and become powerful agents of change.
